Social Media Management Cost in India and How to Compare Packages

Social Media Management Cost in India and How to Compare Packages

Marketing

The parts of a social media budget: management, production, creator usage and paid media

You receive two proposals for managing your brand’s Instagram account. One costs ₹15,000 a month and promises sixteen pieces of content. The other costs ₹40,000 and promises twelve. Which is better value?

The answer depends on what it takes to produce those pieces. Editing footage you supply is a different job from developing the idea, writing a script, arranging a shoot and delivering the finished reel. Add approvals, publishing and customer messages, and a post count starts to look like a very incomplete description of the work.

Published Indian agency packages span different budgets and scopes. The useful comparison is the full monthly cost of delivering the content your business needs, including production and the work your own team must still do.

This guide uses actual published packages, a worked monthly budget and a proposal scorecard to help you make that comparison. It is written for founders and marketing teams choosing social media support for a consumer brand or service business.

What social media management packages cost in India

A comparison of published packages

The examples below were checked on 27 October 2026. They show specific providers’ advertised prices and inclusions; they are not a survey of average Indian agency fees.

Provider and published offer

Advertised monthly fee

Scope stated on the provider’s page

Index Solutions Starter Social

₹8,999

Ten pieces: eight creatives and two reels, with copy, a calendar, Facebook and Instagram management, and a monthly report

Index Solutions Growth Social

₹14,999 plus GST

Sixteen pieces: twelve creatives and four reels, community management, story updates and one local shoot of up to two hours

Stalite Media Starter

₹25,000–₹40,000

Eight to ten reels, basic carousels, one to two shoot days and light community management

SocialMocktail social media management

Starts at ₹40,000

Its pricing article identifies this as the agency’s starting fee, with the final scope depending on requirements

Index specifies that paid ads and influencer fees are quoted separately. Its included shoots also have geographic and duration limits. Those conditions matter as much as the monthly price.

The comparison explains why a single “cost per post” can mislead. A programme built around filming and editing reels has different production requirements from one built mainly around supplied photographs. A lower fee may fit your needs perfectly if you already have the material and someone available to direct it.

Match the buying decision to your starting point

Choose the scope around the gap in your team:

  • You already have good footage and a clear content plan. You may mainly need design, editing and reliable publishing.

  • You have products but little usable material. Your budget needs to cover concepts, shot planning, filming or photography, and editing.

  • Content goes out but looks inconsistent. The work may begin with positioning, visual direction and a repeatable design system.

  • People enquire but nobody follows up consistently. Define message handling and lead handoff alongside publishing.

These are different assignments. A proposal should tell you which one the agency is taking responsibility for.

What should be included in a monthly retainer

Planning with a purpose for each format

A calendar should connect the content to your products, audience and commercial priorities. For a jewellery brand, that could mean showing how a piece sits when worn, explaining sizing, introducing a collection and answering buying questions. For a professional service, the useful subjects may be process, examples of work and common client concerns.

“Twelve posts” becomes a useful commitment when the plan explains what those posts will communicate and how the material will be produced. Ask for a sample calendar before treating volume as the main measure of value.

Clear production responsibilities

Establish who supplies the product, location, people on camera and footage. Then define who writes the script, prepares the shot list and directs the shoot.

For editing, include captions, covers, music, brand elements and the required exports in the scope. Distinguish a new concept from an alternate opening or a resize. All can be useful deliverables, but they involve different amounts of work.

The same clarity applies to carousels. Designing slides from supplied text is different from researching the subject, developing the argument, writing the copy and creating the layout.

Publishing and community management

Specify which platforms are covered and whether content is adapted for each one. Reposting the same asset and developing a different platform-specific treatment should have separate descriptions.

For comments and messages, agree business hours, response ownership and escalation. The agency may be able to answer a product question while needing your team to handle an order dispute or a sales negotiation. A named handoff prevents an enquiry from sitting between two teams.

Approvals that keep the calendar moving

An approval process needs one decision-maker, a feedback deadline and a place where comments are collected. Conflicting feedback from several people can consume production time without improving the content.

Agree how many revision rounds are included and what counts as a change of brief. Correcting an inaccurate detail should be handled differently from replacing an approved concept after filming.

Build the monthly content plan and full budget

A sample month for a product brand

Here is an illustrative sixteen-piece plan. It is a starting point for scoping, rather than a recommended posting frequency for every business or a fixed Coresium package.

Week

Two reels

One carousel

One static post

1

Product demonstration and founder introduction

How to choose the right option

Collection or product announcement

2

A common buying question and a styling example

Product comparison

Availability or offer information

3

Behind the scenes and a use-case demonstration

Care or usage guidance

A verified customer quote with permission

4

An objection answered and a new opening for a useful idea

Frequently asked questions

Campaign reminder or next release

The plan exposes what the team needs before production: products, a person on camera, factual product information and suitable customer material. If a customer quote is unavailable, choose another subject rather than creating a testimonial to fill the slot.

Batch filming can help when several pieces use the same products and location. Keep some capacity for timely announcements or changes instead of committing every available hour to a rigid calendar.

A complete cost example

Consider this hypothetical month. The amounts are assumptions used to show the budgeting method, not market averages or a Coresium offer.

Item

Example cost

Planning, copy, design, editing and publishing

₹25,000

A separately scoped product shoot

₹10,000

Additional creator or talent fee

₹5,000

Social content subtotal

₹40,000

Optional paid distribution

₹20,000

Total with that distribution

₹60,000

The calculation excludes taxes. An actual proposal should state the applicable tax treatment and whether travel, props, locations or tools add to the quote.

If the management fee already includes a shoot, remove the separate shoot line. If no creator is needed, remove that line too. The purpose is to identify the complete scope without counting the same work twice.

Paid creative needs its own allocation

An organic reel may be useful in an ad campaign, but testing can require additional openings, offers or edits. Decide how that work will be commissioned and counted.

For example, one product demonstration with two opening lines is one underlying concept and two opening variations. Recording that distinction helps you understand what you have tested and what still needs a new idea.

If advertising is part of the engagement, use our performance marketing cost guide to separate media, management and production.

How to compare proposals and measure the work

Use the same scope for every comparison

Take the social media scope scorecard into the proposal review. It covers the items that most often make apparently similar offers difficult to compare.

Area

What a clear proposal should establish

Content

Counts by format, original concepts, adaptations and story work

Production

Shoot duration, location, footage supply, talent and editing

Delivery

Platforms, publishing dates, approval process and revisions

Community

Response hours, responsibilities and enquiry escalation

Reporting

Measures, review frequency and resulting decisions

Ownership

Access to accounts, finished files, source files and usage terms

Record an unanswered item as a gap in the scope. A proposal with fewer deliverables can still be the better fit if it addresses your actual bottleneck and assigns responsibility clearly.

Make the monthly review useful

Choose measures that reflect the content’s job. A product demonstration might be assessed on attention, relevant product-page visits and the buying questions it resolves. A service campaign may need enquiry and booking data. Content about care or usage may help existing customers without producing an immediate sale.

Use consistent campaign links where a clickable destination is available. Google documents how parameters such as source, medium and campaign identify referred traffic, with content parameters distinguishing variations. That gives the report a clearer connection between a published piece and a website visit. Google Analytics campaign-link guidance explains the fields.

The review should finish with decisions: repeat a useful subject, improve an unclear demonstration, change the format or stop a weak idea. Keep the volume of published work visible alongside what it taught you.

Judge work at the right level

Use a portfolio to assess design, editing, writing and consistency. Use campaign evidence to assess business results. When looking at results, keep the time period, spend and measurement method attached to the claim.

Questions to settle before choosing a package

How many posts should a monthly package include

Choose a volume the team can produce and approve well. The sixteen-piece example above is a scoping exercise. A brand with a complex product, limited footage or lengthy approvals may benefit from fewer, more substantial pieces. The proposal should explain how its mix serves your audience and what production it requires.

Does social media management include reels and shoots

Only when the scope says so. A reel may mean editing footage you provide or planning and filming new material. Specify the number, production responsibilities and revision allowance. For shoots, record duration, location, travel and what finished content the session is expected to supply.

Are advertising spend and creator fees included

They can be bundled or charged separately. Have each component itemised so you know what goes to the delivery team, the creator and the advertising platform. That also makes it easier to adjust the plan when your priorities change.

Should a Mumbai brand use a local agency

Location matters when the work depends on regular filming, store visits or in-person coordination. Remote planning, design and editing may still be practical. Compare the complete workflow, including travel and access to products, rather than treating the agency’s postcode as the decision.

What should happen in the first month

Establish the audience, messaging, existing assets and baseline performance. Agree the calendar, create the first production batch and test the approval process. Use the first review to improve the next batch. A posting schedule can be delivered quickly; judging its commercial effect needs enough relevant activity and context.
